Back in the Groove!

Well, maybe I'm not completely back in the groove but I'm definitely getting there. I went grocery shopping with Jameson this morning and came home to the older boys napping so I got to get all the food unloaded. A few things that I've been doing pretty good with keeping up with got done, like some laundry and the dishes and then through out the day I got things done that I haven't been keeping up with as much. I got all the floors swept AND mopped (yup all of it and in the same day!). I scrubbed down the kitchen and cleaned the windows in the kitchen and kitchen nook. All the trash and recycles went out and I got the barrel down to the curb for pick up. When I was shopping I picked up a file box for all my lessons and the boys projects and work so that is all put away, although I still need to make time to organize and go through all of it. I got the goodie bags put together for CJ's party on Saturday and straightened up the bathroom a bit.
By NO means is the house where I want it but I'm getting there. I'm also learning to work around the boys and get Jameson to sleep in his pack'n'play so I don't have to worry so much about Wyatt trying to pick him up. Logan is over being sick (although the middle boys aren't feeling so hot) so he'll be back at school and my plan is to be back on my schedule and work out for a bit after I drop him off at school. The house feels really good right now and I'm super motivated to keep it this way and make it better! Sometime this week I want to get everything organized - this includes the worst areas of our house, our bedroom and closet. We want to get our room painted in the next few weeks (it's the ONLY room in the house that isn't painted. Now I just have to get myself motivated to write my paper for school... but that will have to wait till tomorrow night (after as much fun as we can have to celebrate CJ's 3rd birthday!!!)

Sick Days!

Having sick kids and a newborn really makes it difficult to do much of anything! Logan has had an on again off again fever and a pretty bad cough since the weekend and I sent him to school Tuesday and Wednesday only for him to get sent home again. He stayed home today so he could see his DR and since I'm not crazy enough to try to take all 4 boys to the DR office myself, especially not during nap time, I went to my grandma's and left CJ and Wyatt with her while I took Logan and Jameson for Logan's appt. Then we went with her to McDonalds for lunch. Turns out that Logan has the end of a cold and the start of an ear infection UGH! So meds and off of school again tomorrow (Friday), so he has pretty much had this whole week off of school! I've been ok at keeping up with the laundry and keeping the house straightened up but that's about it. When I'm not dealing with the kids I've been working on my school work (I'm hoping I at least end up with a C in this last class I had because I did NOT do very well). Hopefully next week I can really get into the routine I started last week. I've also been wanting to go to the Zoo with the boys so if they all feel OK we are going to try to go this weekend.

Getting into a Routine & Schedule

Now is the time! I'm finally getting solid into a routine and getting a schedule going, although it's still a work in progress. My husband is back at work now (although his days off will be different from normal the next few weeks) but that is making it easier to see how things are going to be. I had 2 nights home alone with all 4 boys and it actually went really smoothly. Tuesdays and Thursdays he has class so I'm home alone from 9am to 10pm basically. For my sake, and the boys, I'm working on a schedule and I'm going to set in time to do projects or some formal learning time with them every day. Right now I just have a basic skeleton and it looks sort of like this:
  • 6:35 wake up
  • 6:45 breakfast
  • 7:05 Logan to school
  • 7:30 mommy work out
  • 11:00 lunch
  • 11:30 nap
  • 2:00 pick up Logan
  • 2:45 snack and homework
  • 5:30 dinner
  • 7:00 bath/shower
  • 7:30 bed time
I have some fill in time after Logan is at school and lunch to do some activities with CJ, Wyatt, and Jameson too when he is able to. As you can see from the schedule I've also started to incorporate working out into my schedule. I did Tae Bo this week and also took a walk with all 4 boys after we picked Logan up from school. I want to make sure to do things to keep the boys active too. Now that the weather is warming up again we will try to go play outside more.
