Memorial Day

Having a husband that works all holidays and leaves for work around 1pm I tend to get a little depressed on all of the "grilling" holidays. I don't do the grill thing, that's hubby's job, but I really want to get the boys out and about in the yard and playing and making happy holiday memories. The pool sounded like a great idea but I'm not totally comfortable going to the pool with all 4 boys myself since none of them can really swim and I wasn't sure if anyone in my family could go with me (I have to go to my grandma's to get the key to her pool anyways so I had to call and check). I decided to call my dad first and thankfully he was able to come so we got everything ready and decided to go to the pool and have a little BBQ at MiMi's house (Mimi is what the boys call my grandma). I was a little bummed that Justin couldn't be there, especially since it was Jameson's first time in a pool, but we went and the boys had a great time!

I was so proud that Logan finally started to try and swim around with out a life vest or any kind of floaty toy! He is by NO means really swimming but he was hopping around and wading a little bit near the steps. Only took him till he's almost 6 1/2 but I'll take what I can get!

Bedtime Nightmare

I can handle the boys all day but come bed time my nightmare begins. Logan was always so good and still will lay in bed and go to sleep even if he's "not tired". For a while CJ was even doing really well so I just had to worry about Wyatt. Now it's back to CJ and Wyatt not wanting to sleep and add to that Jameson is usually awake so I'm carting his ever growing butt around and it's just a big nightmare. What makes it even worse is the fact that when their Daddy is home they go STRAIGHT to bed for him! I just don't get it. I have watched him and mimicked what he does at bed time and for naps but it just doesn't work for me. I keep saying I'm going to do the "back to bed" routine thing that SuperNanny does but that entails not talking to them and just taking them back to bed over and over again and I just don't have the patience for that! I'm dying for the day that I say "Good night" do each of them and they all go to their rooms and I don't see them again until morning (preferably late morning) haha!

We Lost Logan!!!

Well, that's what CJ just told his daddy when he got home! Logan is at his first sleep over tonight at my friends house. I can't believe he's so big and spending the night with friends! He was SOOOOOO excited all day about going over there and told me "it's my first sleep over in my entire life!" funny, cute kids of mine :) It should be interesting to see how late the middles sleep in with Logan gone. I'm 99% sure that they only get up any morning so early because Logan is an early bird and wakes them up. Fingers crossed that they sleep in!

Appraisal Cleaning

We have a ridiculously high rate on our mortgage (stuff got messed up when we bought the house and it wasn't done in time) so we decided now that we've been here for 4 years and have made a bunch of improvements (and paid way too much in interest and not enough on principle) it was time to try to refinance. Part of the process is having an appraiser come out to give the bank the value of the home so they know what it's worth to do the loan. So yesterday was the date of the appraisal and that meant CLEANING, CLEANING, CLEANING! We also decided it was time to FINALLY get our bedroom painted. Aside from the closets we had already painted EVERY other room in the house, even our bathroom was painted, but not our bedroom! We've had the paint forever too but just never made the time to do it and since the rest of the house was done we figured it could affect the outcome of the price on the home since it wasn't totally finished. I must say that I am very proud of the way the house has come along. The colors in the bedroom look awesome and the whole house just flows really well. I teased my hubby that I should be a designer :). We haven't heard yet exactly what our house is worth but definitely more than what the county has it appraised at and the  lady said that she really likes our floor plan (and in her words "and I've seen a LOT of houses") so that was a big compliment! Hopefully all of the upgrades we've made to the house and having the house totally cleaned up (which it's not too bad even today after the boys played and have made messes again) we'll be able to get the new loan on the house and start saving a little bit of money!

Work out Crazy!

I have no idea what got into me today but I got in 2 work outs! Well, sort of... First I got in about 25 minutes of Tae-bo, I would have done more but Jameson got cranky. Then after some laundry and tending to Jameson I got him down for a nap and decided to try and go for a run. I set out planning to get a good solid run at least around the neighborhood and got about 1/2 around and had to start walking (yeah that equals about 2 minutes before I wanted to die lol). So that is going to be a work in progress, maybe start out at a much slower pace or start out just walking the neighborhood and work my way up to a jog then run. I took a shower and got dressed for the day and rested for a while, in pain! lol Man, I am out of shape! Getting better though... YAY me!

So then it was more laundry, cleaning, picking Logan up from school, cleaning, laundry, and starting dinner (Jambalaya). While dinner was cooking my friend came over with her son and we hung out while the boys played and we had dinner. I have to say Mr. CJ pushed my buttons tonight and did NOT want to eat anything! He kept playing and trying to get up. I don't know if it's because my friend was here or what but I stuck to my guns and he was NOT leaving the table or having any of the fruit (fresh cut cantaloupe and honeydew melon) until he at least ate a few bites of his dinner! It felt really good to not just say "whatever" and then him end up grumping at me later because he was hungry and Bella ate his food.

Happy Mothers Day!

I crawled into my big bed by myself last night. Jameson got up to nurse and I was still alone in my bed, well, until I brought Jameson into bed with. Later that night I woke up to switch sides and there were 2 more little boys in my bed (CJ and Wyatt) and not long after that Logan was in my room waking me up because "Daddy told to go back to bed, but the sun is up!". Slowly all the older boys found there way out of bed and Jameson and I cuddled until almost 9am when I heard the boys and started to smell breakfast cooking. I texted my hubby to tell him I was up and ask if I could come out.... his response.... a text back "No" :) So I waited and Logan came into my room with a plate of food, followed by CJ with some orange juice :) After breakfast the boys trotted in with their art projects for me, so stinking cute! and then they went off to play and Hubby made a milk and honey mixture for me to soak my feet and watch some TV. After that I got a nice hot shower before he had to go to work. It was a really great day and instead of stressing and cleaning the house and making dinner I've just lounged around with my boys and ate leftovers for dinner.

Pooper Scoopers!

When we were out the other day in the yard the boys noticed a lot of puppy poop. I told Wyatt, who kept yelling at me and pointing at a piece of poop, "so pick it up!" And like the good little boy he is, he reached down to try to pick it up! LoL so I yelled NOOOOoooo! Then I went to get some plastic bags and set CJ and Wyatt up to be little pooper scoopers :) They didn't clean much up but it was awfully cute to see them out there.

Beautification

Spring is here and with it my wonderful hubby has started back on his tasks of taking care of the yards and doing projects! His newest project is fixing the backyard. The boys have their sandbox but they always make a huge mess and don't play in it often so he decided to make a little pergola for it and he moved it to the back corner of the yard to try to keep the sand in the box and off the concrete. I must say that he is quite the handy little builder! The boys spent the past couple days in the yard playing while daddy was working. There is still more to do but he got the pergola and base done and just has to get dirt and level the ground to put the sandbox in. He also is thinking about making a little fence and a door for them to go in and out. It's super cute and I can't wait for him to finish it and I really want to decorate that area and make it super fun for them.

We're also going to be putting a tree in the back yard and we have my little clementine tree that isn't doing so well... hopefully it'll come back to life. It's amazing how far the backyard has come since we first moved in 4 years ago!
