You've Been BOOed!!!

We got BOO-ed by a neighbor last night! Beenbooed.com is a fun thing where you print the card and fill a goodie bag up and basically ding-dong-ditch your neighbors! My neighbors son cheated and didn't run and told us it was from his mom but made me promise not to tell her lol. So today I took CJ and Wyatt to the dollar store to pick up a few halloween treats to drop off for 2 neighbors. After that we stopped at the park for a picnic lunch and met up with my friend Danielle and her son, Aiden. When we got home the boys went down for nap and I assembled the BOOed goodie bags! Here are the pictures to prove it :)

Here are all the goodies I bought: a little bowl, 2 cups, 2 glow sticks, 2 bags of pretzels, a few pumpkin lolipops, and a bag of halloween activities. Then I got all the goodies wrapped up in the little bowls.

Then I folded up the little You've Been BOO-ed! cards and attached them to the ribbons and they are all ready to go! The "rules" say you are supposed to do it after it starts to get dark but I'm probably going to drop them off when I pick Logan up from school. I did follow the rule of doing it in one day though! They are super cute and they have some to do for Christmas time too so maybe I'll remember and maybe start it this year in our neighborhood. It's a lot of fun! Here are the goodie bags with the cards on them.

Zoo, Train and Movie Day!

on the train

We decided to go to the zoo today since we haven't done many FUN things since my MIL has been here and she is leaving tomorrow! The boys got up early and so I made some eggs, sausage and strawberries for breakfast and then we got ready and headed out to the zoo! The boys had a great time seeing the hippo out of the water and going to the petting zoo and petting and brushing the goats. Then, since the boys all ate really well, Grandma said they could have a treat and CJ wanted to go on the train. So we visited a few more animals and headed out to the zoo. CJ and Logan had a blast the whole time and Wyatt was so cute all snuggled up on me almost ready to fall asleep. They all crashed on the way home (well, Logan said he wasn't sleeping, he just rested) and I took Logan to the store to get groceries. Then we had some pizza for dinner and watched The Tooth Fairy. Overall a really fun and busy day for us and Daddy got a morning of quiet time to rest. up.

Lots of Family Time

With Justin's shoulder broken and now after surgery we've been home A LOT. I now have 4 "kids" to tend to! Between tending to the 3 little ones and then having to help Justin out with everything the past few days I am running on empty. Thankfully he is starting to feel a little better and able to get up and move around a bit. The poor little boys have been dying to play with their daddy so they were psyched today when he was out of the bedroom for most of the day. We've spent a lot of time cuddled up on the bed in our room or on the couch watching movies or TV. Justin's dad was in town to help out the day of the surgery and for the past few days after. We took the boys for walks and to the park and swimming so they got to get out a little bit. Of course Logan and CJ now have took that week to get sick. Thankfully they both recovered quickly and feel great now.
Now with my MIL visiting I have been able to do a little bit more with the boys and she is helping me to get all caught up on the house cleaning (she's so wonderful!). She brought some neat painting books where they just use water and put it on the paper and it brings the colors out. CJ and Wyatt had fun with those, even though it ended up with Wyatt's whole paper with water dumped on it! Then another day CJ saw the shaving cream in the art supplies cupboard so he and Logan decided that they wanted to play with that for a while. Wyatt tested it out a bit but wasn't really interested in it. CJ, on the other hand, ended up completely covered! Logan had a blast making all his shapes and letters, such a little smarty pants. They have also
CJ's hands covered in shaving cream

The boys playing with shaving cream
been little lazy butts enjoying cuddling with Daddy on the bed and watching different TV shows and movies. It's the most time that they really get to spend with their daddy since he is in so much pain. If we have something we have to do he can be up and about for about 2 or 3 hours but even that really knocks a lot out of him. It's better for him not to rush it though and give his body all the time it needs to heal from the surgery so he can work to get back to where he needs to be. So for now he spends most of the days in bed watching shows and when the boys are in the mood to sit still and cuddle up with him they crawl into bed too.

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin!

I've been trying hard to keep up with my cleaning schedule with Justin being home and this week I've been doing really well. Doing projects with the boys, however, has kind of slowed down since he likes to put on movies during the day so the boys cuddle up with him and watch TV. Today though he is in class so I decided (after putting some laundry in the washer) to pull out some pumpkin pictures for the little ones to paint! They both actually did really well with it... normally they paint for a little bit and then are ready for another paper lol. But I got both of them to paint almost the whole pumpkin in and they were fine for me to take them when they were done :) Wyatt did a great job keeping the paint on his paper and not all over the table and his face :) Well, he did make a mess, of course, what can you expect from a 14 month old using paint lol, but he did pretty well over all. He even was using the paint brushes and had fun using 2 at a time or painting one brush with the other. It's been a while since I've bought paint and they are running low, normally I buy those types of things for the holiday's just so they have more things to open but I may need to buy some before then since I have so many painting projects that I want to do! I'm not sure how or where right now but I want to hang up their pumpkins (I have more so that Logan can paint one and CJ and Wyatt can do another one) and if it's not too expensive I think I want to laminate them and use them as decorations! After the boys go down for nap, if they are dry, I'm going to cut them out too and I can't wait to see how they look!

broken!

WOW! I have had some lazy days and crazy days but nothing compares to yesterday... I had finally gotten some energy and was really excited to clean my floors after the boys went to bed. All of the carpets had been washed and I'd gotten most of the floor swept and toys picked up and I was getting the boys clean and into jammies when my phone rang. Justin called and said he was in the hospital and I was going to have to pick him up! Ok scary thought when your police officer husband calls you from a hospital and needs you to get him. So I finished getting the boys bathed and into their jammies and loaded them up into the van (after packing some books, toys and snacks since I had NO idea how late we'd be there) and at 8pm - which is normally bed time, especially on a school night- we headed down to the hospital. Turns out he broke his right shoulder and will be out of work for probably a good 6 weeks. So there went my cleaning and any energy I may have had today to get it done. Now I get to take care of 3 little boys and 1 big one all while being pregnant... hopefully I can keep up somewhat.

I've come to the conclusion that starting this quest while pregnant probably wasn't the best idea... and with school starting and all sorts of craziness I have jumped into water a little higher than my head. Still, I am going to keep trying to keep up with everything and doing activites with the boys. They deserve the best mommy they can have and I'll keep doing my best to be that mommy!

Sick day! BLAH!

CJ doing bath time art!
Wyatt and CJ got sick and then so did I and I'm telling you, being a mommy of sick kids and being sick is NOT good for being productive! I was sleeping so much! We are all starting to feel better, finally, so I'm getting to be more productive and actually starting back up with cleaning and laundry. I was so looking forward to doing activities with the boys but haven't been able to, but today I printed out some coloring pages and went through some ideas to do with them the next couple weeks. Even though I didn't do much the little boys did color in a bubble bath the other day. They had a lot of fun with that! Yesterday was labor day and so the boys played outside while Justin grilled some burgers. It was hot out and humid from being a little rainy so they didn't stay out long, but enough to get some energy out. They like to go through the tall weeds that their daddy has to cut down and they "high-ya" them and march around like they are going through a jungle or something, it's really cute. They will be so sad when we cut them down to put the tree in there! Tomorrow Justin is having surgery so we are dropping Logan off at school early (he is really excited to eat breakfast at school, weird kid lol) so after CJ, Wyatt and I make sure their daddy is safe in a room and doesn't need us we are going to head over to a McDonalds to get some breakfast and hopefully they will have a play place for them to run around in until we go back to bring Daddy home and pick Logan up from school.

PAINT!

Wyatt was a paiting machine yesterday! It had been a while since I'd had him try to paint so while Logan was at school, that's what we did. CJ painted too and he's become quite the little artist! At first Wyatt did a really good job getting paint onto the paper but before I knew it he had paint on his face... then more... then more... then even more! By the end of it he looked like someone had beaten him up!
But he still looked cute to me :) They had a really good time and I need to definitely do painting projects more often. It seems to keep both of their attention longer than coloring with crayons or markers. With the holiday's coming up it will be more fun to do painting projects with a fun holiday theme. I already have some ideas for Halloween that I know the boys will love. I can't wait to use their little hands and feet to make spiders and ghosts... to stuff paper into trashbags and hang ghosts outside... I'm going to definitely look up more ideas for more fun art projects for Hallowee, Thanksgiving, Channukah and Christmas since the holidays will be here before we know it! I just LOVE holiday time, it is by far the best time of year! So much fun and happiness and just a good feeling all together. Plus then the time will go by faster and I'll blink and it will be January and then Jameson will be here! I can't wait to meet my new little boy. Although that means Logan will be turning 6... then CJ will be 3... maybe I won't rush it too much :)
